Manage block content

For each of the rows in the Gamification block, you can select the following options:

  • Image - slide the bar to the right to display the selected image behind the row content or to the left to hide the image for that row.
  • View (eye icon) – slide the bar to the right to display the row content or to the left to hide the row content.

Background image

You can upload images to be displayed on the background of your Gamification block.

Only a single image can be selected per block. As described above, you can select which rows have the background image and which rows have a solid background.

When uploading images, we recommend that you select images with subtle patterns so they do not compete with the content in the block.

Background colour

In addition to the image, you can select a background colour for the block from the colour picker or by entering its six-character HEX code. Any row that does not have the background image will have the solid colour background.

Exclude user roles

You have the option to exclude specific roles from the Gamification block. Although users with the excluded roles are not included in the Gamificaiton leaderboard, the users continue to earn Gamification points and can view their points on their Profile page.

To exclude a role, slide the bar to the right; to include the role, slide the bar to the right. By default Admin users are excluded.

Note: The configuration settings you make for the Gamification block on the home page will be applied by default to the Gamification leaderboard on the Dashboard. If you do not include the Gamification block on the home page, by default the Gamification block on the Dashboard will exclude Admin users.

Exclude content

You have the option to exclude points earned from specific Challenges, Idea Spaces and/or Co-creation Communities from the Gamification block. When you exclude an Idea Space or Co-creation Community, no points earned from Challenges in the areas will be included in the Gamificaiton leaderboard.

To exclude the points earned, click the edit link. In edit mode you can exclude the applicable Challenges, Idea Spaces and Co-creation Communities by clicking the eye icon for the content to be excluded. If the eye icon has a slash (/) through it, the points earned in the content are not included in the Gamification leaderboard. The users continue to earn Gamification points for the excluded content and can view their points on their Profile page.

Click done when you have excluded all relevant content.

Dashboard Gamification Leaderboard

To ensure consistency between the leaderboard on the home page and Dashboard, the configuration settings defined for the home page are applied to the Dashboard. If you want to change the configuration settings for the Dashboard but do not want to display the Gamification block on the home page, configure the block as described above, but slide the bar the left to hide the title and leaderboard rows in the block.
